Democrats Frustrated as Kamala Harris Remains Largely Absent in Crucial Final Stage of Campaign: ‘What the F–k Are Y’all Doing?’

That’s the burning question among frustrated Democrats as Vice President Kamala Harris has become noticeably absent on the campaign trail in the crucial final month before the 2024 presidential election.

“You reach a point where you just have to hit these battleground states hard,” said David Axelrod, a top Obama campaign strategist, in an interview with Politico. “Campaigns are like decathlons—there are many events, and you have to be present for all of them because people want to evaluate you.”

Axelrod added that Harris should be doing more interviews, especially with tougher outlets, as voters are expecting to see her more.

While Trump is holding rallies nationwide, Harris has taken a more cautious approach, doing very few interviews and keeping interactions with voters to a minimum. This strategy has alarmed top Democratic strategists, who fear it mirrors Hillary Clinton’s flawed 2016 campaign.

According to Politico’s analysis of her schedule, since the Democratic National Convention in August, Harris has spent a third of her time in briefings or meetings. Almost half of her days have been in Washington, D.C.

Legendary Democratic strategist James Carville expressed his frustration on a podcast this week, saying, “What the f— are y’all doing in the Harris campaign? Get her out there now!”
