After watching the clips, I can’t help but wonder: are there really two Americas? One where people are moved to tears by empty emotional appeals, and another where rational thought still prevails?

The clips are filled with flashy visuals, emotional rhetoric, and a presidential candidate spewing absolute nonsense. Even the stories shared by Oprah and her friends don’t support the narrative she’s pushing, but no one seems to care about the facts.
If Oprah says it, it must be true, right? Just look at the Georgia abortion story. A woman dies from a botched abortion, and Oprah blames her death on restrictive abortion laws.

Kamala’s responses were as vacuous and uninformed as ever, but it didn’t seem to matter. It’s as if using emotional language is a substitute for having coherent policies.
It’s all about the “vibe” for Kamala’s campaign. Apparently, she plans to govern by vibes.
Sure, that will fix our problems. Throw in some JOY! and everything will magically get better. We can own nothing and be happy or something.

The entire livestream was packed with Kamala’s “profound” wisdom and emotion. It was like a word salad drenched in the emotional equivalent of fat-free Ranch dressing—something vaguely familiar but ultimately unsatisfying and likely to leave you with a bad taste.

Does this resonate with Americans? If so, with whom? According to CNN, it’s women.
Ladies, we need to do better if this is what appeals to us. To be fair, I believe married women with children can see through this emotional fluff, but single women concerned about unplanned pregnancies might not be as discerning.

Clearly, it does appeal to some. Kamala hopes to mobilize her core base of supporters—the so-called “crazy cat ladies.” As men, including Black men, flock to the testosterone-driven Trump campaign, the Harris team is working to shore up their support among single women, who they seem to believe are emotionally fragile and eager to experience the “JOY!” of the Harris/Walz ticket.

I have to believe that most Americans see this spectacle and are repelled. I don’t have strong opinions about Oprah, but she does associate with some questionable individuals. It makes one wonder if their support for abortion is more about hiding their own misdeeds than genuine compassion.
If people are willing to sell out their country because celebrities tell them to, I don’t know what to think.
Have we abandoned rational thought? Maybe so.
