Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, a Republican representing the 13th District, has accused her Democratic opponent’s “irresponsible rhetoric” of inciting a disturbing harassment campaign against her. In a detailed post on X (formerly Twitter) Saturday, Luna said she has been doxxed and received threatening packages at her home.
“When you label people a threat to democracy and attempt to dehumanize/lie about them, violence occurs,” wrote Luna, a strong Trump ally.
While Luna didn’t name her Democratic challenger, Whitney Fox, she accused Fox’s supporters of using her campaign’s social media pages to dox the congresswoman and encourage sending threatening packages. Luna posted a screenshot of a message suggesting others send a “love letter or … something” to her home.
Luna criticized this behavior, stating, “The fact that this went on for weeks is not only abhorrent but also it is shameful,” adding that Democrats’ rhetoric contributed to the situation in a district she considers unwinnable for them.
In addition, Luna claimed a “leftist Democrat organization” backing her opponent sent her sexually harassing and anti-semitic messages. She reported the harassment to local authorities and the FBI, which is investigating. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed receiving Luna’s complaint but refrained from further comment due to the ongoing investigation.
Luna has faced election threats before, including a 2021 incident in which she obtained a restraining order against a GOP primary rival, alleging a plot to harm her. Neither Fox, Luna, nor the FBI immediately responded to requests for comment.
