I’ve written extensively about how out of touch Joe Biden has become. In fact, he seems so disconnected that it’s as if he’s already gone, even before his time in office is up. However, I have to admit, Biden doesn’t have a monopoly on delusion within the Democratic Party. One of the key figures pushing him out of the race—Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)—showed just how unhinged she and other Democrats who think like her are during her appearance on Bill Maher’s show on Friday.
Maher asked her about a bill passed by the California legislature, which hasn’t yet been signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, that would allow illegal aliens to receive 20 percent, up to $150,000, in government down payment assistance to buy a home. That’s already bad enough. But what Pelosi said next made it even worse. She tried to justify this by invoking Ronald Reagan, claiming it wasn’t “free houses” but rather making “the American dream available to more people.”
Yeah, no. Ronald Reagan never said, “Let’s give down payment assistance to illegal aliens.” But it wasn’t just Reagan she invoked.
Pelosi also brought up the Statue of Liberty, as if the iconic symbol of freedom somehow endorses illegal immigration. The Statue of Liberty doesn’t say, “Please enter illegally and we will give you lots of money.”
She even tried to drag George Herbert Walker Bush into the discussion, suggesting he was for “diversity.”
Pelosi went on to suggest that California’s lead on this issue might inspire other states to follow, saying, “California is always in the lead, maybe others will follow, but that’s up to those states.” No, you and California are out of your minds, and sane states will not be following your lead.
But this is the direction Democrats want to take us. Pelosi argued that making the dream of homeownership accessible is something we must do for people who are here now.
Maher pointed out that this includes the “undocumented.” This didn’t faze Pelosi at all; she said she wants to move illegal aliens to be “documented.” Then came this absurd comment: “One of the best things we can do for the economy is pass comprehensive immigration reform.”
I’ve already written about how free money for down payments (which isn’t really free) is a terrible idea, even for American citizens, because it’s economically illiterate and would make things worse. Kamala Harris has already proposed this, and she was torn apart by former President Donald Trump and X owner Elon Musk. This new California addition only makes it more ridiculous by including illegal aliens.
Bill Maher managed to needle Pelosi about “discouraging people to run”—a clear reference to her role in pushing Joe Biden out the door.
She claimed, “People make their own decisions.”
Maher responded, “Thank you so much for what you didn’t do.” He had been a strong advocate for replacing Biden, predicting that Biden would lose. Pelosi smirked, revealing her true conniving nature.
“When Joe stepped down, did you want it to be an open convention as opposed to going right to Kamala?” he asked.
Pelosi then claimed, “It was open. Anybody could have gotten in. She wrapped it up.”
Talk about delusional. It was handed to her, and there was nothing “open” about it. She wasn’t “wrapping up” anything; she didn’t have to lift a finger.
Pelosi says things like this with no basis in reality, thinking everyone is either too stupid to notice or that people will just accept what she says without question.
But this is typical Democrat behavior—lying about everything.
