Last week, Barack Obama made an appearance at the Democrats’ convention in Chicago, delivering his usual intense and cautionary speech.
“We do not need four more years of bluster and bumbling and chaos,” he exclaimed. “We have seen that movie before and we all know that the sequel is usually worse.”
Now, President Donald Trump is using those exact words in a new campaign ad. The irony is that, although Obama was clearly aiming to criticize Trump’s first term as the former president campaigns for a second, the current administration, led by Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, could easily be the target of Obama’s description.
The ad concludes with the standard, “I’m Donald J. Trump, and I approved this message.”
Social media reactions included:
“They were all up there acting like she (Kamala Harris) isn’t the incumbent.”
“I can’t stop laughing at these awesome troll tactics by President Trump.”
“Funny.”
“Harris, Biden, and the Democratic Party have been in power for the last four years. I agree with Obama—we can’t afford four more years of high inflation, open borders, endless wars, censorship, and attacks on parental rights. Harris is an unfit communist. Vote Trump 2024!”
Another ad in the Trump campaign takes a more serious tone.
It depicts scenes of war with exploding buildings and, thanks to video rewind capabilities, shows the destruction being reversed.
“Before thousands were brutally killed, including Americans. Before Iran helped Hamas plan the attack, killing Americans. Before Biden gave billions of taxpayer money to Iran, Trump played hardball with Iran, destroyed ISIS, kept the Middle East at peace, and kept us out of endless wars through strength.”
The ad closes with a statement from Trump: “History shows very plainly that evil only respects one thing: unyielding strength. When I’m back in the White House, our enemies will know if you spill a drop of American blood, we will spill a gallon of yours.”
