On Monday morning, following the turmoil at Columbia University—where Jewish students were threatened and weeks of anti-Israel protests blocked major roads—former President Trump posted on social media, criticizing authorities’ weak response to left-wing activists nationwide.
Trump stated that left-wing demonstrators and “even rioters” are allowed free rein under a “two-tiered justice system,” drawing a comparison between the authorities’ handling of leftist agitators and conservatives.
“Why are Palestinian protesters, and even rioters, allowed to roam the Cities, scream, shout, sit, block traffic, enter buildings, not get permits, and basically do whatever they want including threatening Supreme Court Justices right in front of their homes, and yet people who truly LOVE our Country, and want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, are not allowed to ‘Peacefully Protest’ and are rudely and systematically shut down and ushered off to far away ‘holding areas,’ essentially denying them their Constitutional Rights,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“America Loving Protesters should be allowed to protest at the front steps of Courthouses, all over the Country, just like it is allowed for those who are destroying our Country on the Radical Left, a two tiered system of justice. Free Speech and Assembly has been ‘CHILLED’ for USA SUPPORTERS. GO OUT AND PEACEFULLY PROTEST. RALLY BEHIND MAGA. SAVE OUR COUNTRY! ‘THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF,’” he concluded.
At Columbia University, the rabbi serving both Columbia and Barnard College advised Jewish students to leave campus due to the “severe antisemitism and disorder” occurring there.
Last week, anti-Israel protestors blocked the Golden Gate Bridge and parts of Interstate 880 in Oakland, California. All southbound lanes of Highway 101 were obstructed at 7:30 a.m., prompting the California Highway Patrol to shut down the northbound lanes and restrict pedestrian and bicycle traffic across the bridge. The lanes remained closed for nearly five hours.
In lower Manhattan, anti-Israel demonstrators shut down the Brooklyn Bridge, causing traffic disruptions. Additionally, activists blocked a road to arrivals and departures at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington state.
