Former top-rated Fox News host Tucker Carlson, a well-known supporter of former President Donald Trump, has garnered praise for his extensive counter-programming interview with Trump during the initial GOP presidential debate. Additionally, he is reportedly considered former First Lady Melania Trump’s preferred choice for the vice-presidential position.
In an unexpected turn of events on Monday, Carlson raised eyebrows by expressing a condition under which he would not support Trump in a potential reelection bid—specifically, if Trump were to select former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley as his running mate.
These remarks from Carlson came to light during an interview at AmericaFest, where he engaged in conversation with conservative host Tim Pool, James O’Keefe, the founder of Project Veritas, and Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA.
When asked by Pool whether he would vote for Trump if Haley were chosen as the Vice President, Carlson’s said: “I would not only not vote for that ticket, I would advocate against it as strongly as I could.”
Carlson added: “That’s just poison. I mean, here’s someone who’s actively opposed to the interests of the country I grew up in, who endorsed the BLM riots, and who is not left, but is neoliberal in the darkest, most — speaking of nihilist — nihilistic way, and has no real popular support, is a creature of the oligarchs.”
Tim Pool is hosing Tucker and Charlie Kirk, and just invited James O'Keefe in, who walked in wearing a bulletproof vest. VERY interesting conversation!!! https://t.co/0Mn2QuJRo7

While Nikki Haley is currently polling slightly behind DeSantis in national surveys, her upward trajectory in the polls is evident, and she has recently garnered several noteworthy endorsements, including support from Iowa’s Governor and the influential Koch brothers-backed Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP) group.
Notably, GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who trails behind Haley in the polls, has characterized her as a “RHINO” (Republican In Name Only) who has a proclivity for “foreign wars,” as reported by the Daily Caller.
Reiterating his stance during the interview, Tucker Carlson affirmed, “So yeah, that would be — that would be a reason to oppose the ticket.” Carlson’s candid remarks provide insight into his considerations regarding potential vice-presidential candidates and their policy positions.
In a previous discussion about his own hypothetical role in the Trump administration, Carlson, upon being questioned about serving as Vice President, humorously remarked, “God would have to yell at me very loud” to entertain such a prospect.
Following his departure from Fox, Tucker Carlson embarked on a new venture with a show on Twitter, later moving to the now X platform. Recently, recognizing the necessity for a name change, Carlson unveiled a new media entity, The Tucker Carlson Network. In this new endeavor, the conservative host aims to tackle sensitive yet crucial issues, including media bias, COVID, vaccine mandates, and the Black Lives Matter movement. A teaser video introducing his upcoming show is provided below. This strategic move suggests Carlson’s commitment to addressing pressing topics and contributing to the evolving media landscape.
