Newsweek highlighted the unexpected nature of this endorsement, considering BLM’s typical association with left-wing politics, contrasting with Trump’s right-wing populist stance.
During the podcast interview, Fisher explained his endorsement, stating, “Because everybody else sucks.” He went on to express a personal liking for Trump, citing disappointment in the current Oval Office occupant and expressing disdain for Vice President Kamala Harris.
When questioned about the perception within the BLM community, Fisher contested, asserting that many other Black individuals were also embracing Trump.
He suggested a shift in sentiment, stating, “I feel like the tide is starting to turn,” emphasizing a growing departure from what he referred to as the “Democratic plantation.” Fisher criticized the Democratic Party, characterizing its policies as racist and detrimental to the Black family, while praising Trump as the opposite.
Fisher further highlighted a divergence on issues such as unrestricted abortion services, noting that many Blacks do not align with the Democrat stance.
The interview concluded with Fisher asserting that “Trump has done more for the Black community than any president I can think of.”
