Donald Trump Jr.’s personal account on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, fell victim to a hacking incident on Wednesday, resulting in the posting of erratic and absurd messages.
A spokesperson for Trump Jr. confirmed the hack to Fox News Digital on Wednesday, describing the content on the account as “false and inflammatory.” With over 10 million followers, his account holds significant influence.
One of the hacker’s posts claimed, “I’m sad to announce, my father Donald Trump has passed away.
I will be running for president in 2024.” Another post read, “This just in: North Korea is about to get smoked.”
Additionally, the hacker wrote an offensive post directed at President Biden that concluded with an expletive directed at the president.
All of these posts have since been removed, and it appears that Trump Jr. has regained complete control of his account. However, as of now, he has not issued a post addressing the hacking incident.
Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr.’s younger brother, injected some humor into the situation by teasing him about the hack on X. He quipped, “What was @donaldtrumpjr’s password? Don2024?” accompanied by a laughing emoji.
Despite former President Donald Trump’s preference for using his Truth Social platform for communication, the Trump family continues to maintain a substantial following on X.
As of now, there have been no indications or clues regarding the identity of the individual or group responsible for Wednesday’s hacking incident.
