Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was involved in a car accident while traveling to a campaign event in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Monday. Although the details of the incident are not fully confirmed, multiple reports indicate that both the Governor and his team emerged without serious injuries.
The news of the accident surprised many across the nation, given that DeSantis is considered a significant contender for the GOP presidential nomination and is seen as the primary rival to former President Donald Trump in the Republican primary race.

Bryan Griffin, the press secretary for the DeSantis campaign, confirmed the accident and stated that the Governor was “uninjured.” Griffin also expressed gratitude for the nation’s prayers and well-wishes for DeSantis’s safety while he continues his campaign trail.

The statement also mentioned that a female staff member sustained a minor injury but, after receiving medical care, she continued traveling with the governor’s motorcade following the accident.
According to The New York Post, the incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. when the lead car in the motorcade suddenly hit the brakes, leading to a collision involving all four vehicles.
The DeSantis campaign expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support of prayers and well-wishes from people across the nation.
