Larry Elder, a conservative talk radio host and presidential candidate, recently revealed that he would consider the role of vice president. In an interview with Newsweek, Elder stated his openness to being the running mate for either former President Donald Trump or Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
In the past, Elder had encouraged Republicans to support a candidate who is not named Trump if they aim to secure victory in the November 2024 elections.
However, his current statement suggests that he is willing to join forces with Trump or DeSantis as their vice presidential candidate.

Navigating a delicate political path, Larry Elder expressed his admiration for former President Donald Trump while acknowledging the potential challenges he might face in appealing to swing voters. Despite Trump’s strong position in GOP polling, he is burdened with legal battles, including accusations of mishandling classified documents and business fraud.
While Elder is currently running for president, he stated that he would consider an offer to be a vice presidential candidate if he is not chosen as the party nominee. According to CNN, Elder has placed emphasis on border security, the issue of alleged systemic racism, and the absence of fathers in homes as key campaign issues.
Elder gained national attention during the 2021 recall election against California Governor Gavin Newsom and is actively working to secure the necessary individual donations to qualify for participation in the first Republican National Committee debate.

As a strong critic of President Joe Biden, Larry Elder has recently raised concerns about the president’s fitness for office, pointing to allegations of cognitive decline.
The 2024 Republican presidential primaries are scheduled to commence in February 2024, with the party’s nominee to be selected at the Republican National Convention in July.
Elder is among several prominent Republican contenders for the 2024 presidential election. He is considering potential running mates such as Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Mike Pence, Vivek Ramaswamy, Nikki Haley, Asa Hutchinson, Tim Scott, Francis Suarez, Doug Burgum, Will Hurd, and Chris Christie.
