According to records examined by Fox News Digital, Hunter Biden and his business partners, who had connections to Burisma, attended a holiday party hosted by then-Vice President Joe Biden in December 2015, shortly after his return from a well-known trip to Ukraine. During that trip, Biden made headlines for pressuring Ukrainian leaders to dismiss Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Mykola Zlochevsky, the founder and former president of Burisma Holdings. Hunter served on the board of Burisma from April 2014 to April 2019.
Supporters of Biden argue that Shokin was fired not because of his aggressive pursuit of corruption, but rather due to his alleged leniency. Biden’s visit to Ukraine took place from December 7 to December 9, 2015. Three months after the visit, Shokin was dismissed, and Biden would later use this as a point of pride in his foreign policy accomplishments.
“I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,” Biden said in 2018, according to a transcript of his remarks at the Council on Foreign Relations. “Well, son of a b—-. (Laughter.) He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”
According to records, upon Biden’s return to Washington from his brief trip to Ukraine, he held a holiday party at the vice president’s Naval Observatory residence on December 12, 2015. Hunter Biden and several business partners from his dissolved investment firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners, were in attendance.
White House visitor logs indicate that on the same day, Hunter visited the White House along with Rosemont Seneca co-founder Devon Archer, Rosemont Seneca President Eric Schwerin, and Sebastian Momtazi, an associate who worked with Archer at Rosemont Seneca’s New York City office. Emails reviewed by Fox News Digital reveal that both Archer and Momtazi had Burisma.com email addresses. Although the visitor logs do not explicitly mention that the business partners were present for a vice presidential party, they do indicate their attendance at a “holiday reception.” An email from Hunter’s verified abandoned laptop confirms that he was scheduled to attend a “VP Holiday Party” at 3 PM that day, along with Archer and several others.
A former Senate staffer, whose attendance at the holiday party is verified by the White House visitor logs, captured a photograph of the senior Biden at the party held on December 12, 2015.
Additionally, a White House aide who worked for Biden at that time sent Hunter an email containing a schedule of his father’s upcoming holiday parties. The schedule included an entry on December 12, 2015, at 3 PM for a “Holiday Reception (Misc.).”
In the days leading up to the party and Joe Biden’s trip to Ukraine, there were several email exchanges between Hunter and his business partners discussing Burisma. These emails involved discussions on how to address media inquiries regarding Hunter’s association with the Ukrainian company.
