During a White House press briefing on Wednesday, Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the payments that House Republicans say President Biden’s family received from a Chinese energy company. However, Karine Jean-Pierre refused to answer the question, stating that she did not want to respond to the inaccuracies and lies that have been spread about the issue for years. This refusal came after the House Oversight Committee revealed that financial records showed at least three Biden family members received lucrative payments from a bank account belonging to a Biden business associate.
According to the records obtained, the Biden family received $1 million in payments, although President Biden denied that any payments were made when approached by a reporter about the topic last Friday. However, the revelations have caused concern, with Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., chairman of the House Oversight Committee, calling on Biden to correct his “dishonest” denial of the payments. Comer has stood by the bank records obtained by his committee and expressed concern about the national security implications of a president’s immediate family receiving such lucrative financial deals from foreign nationals and companies without any oversight.
CNN, a liberal news network, has admitted that the revelations certainly do not “look good” for the Bidens as they face government investigations into their alleged corruption. Although Jean-Pierre refused to answer the question during the briefing, Comer wrote a letter to her expressing his concerns about the national security implications of such payments. The situation continues to develop, and it remains to be seen how the Biden administration will respond to the allegations.
