Elon Musk is making headlines once again by criticizing lawmakers for “misleading the public” regarding the Capitol riots on Jan. 6. He tweeted that politicians like Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger and Adam Schiff were guilty of withholding evidence for partisan political reasons that put people in jail for more serious crimes than they actually committed. Obviously, this is a big no-no in the eyes of Mr. Musk, who believes that such behavior is morally and legally wrong.
The House Select Committee investigating the Capitol Hill attack has already issued its final report, which denounced former President Trump and accused Republican lawmakers of encouraging the violent event that led to multiple deaths, injuries and property damage. However, Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently claimed to have obtained over 40,000 hours of exclusive, new footage from that day, material that he says disproves some of the committee’s claims.
The clips presented by Carlson, which he said had been given to him by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, showcased “sightseers” walking peacefully through the Capitol building and Capitol Police officers escorting a QAnon supporter named Jacob Chansley through several hallways without any incident. Carlson questioned why at least 9 officers never arrested Chansley for the crimes he’s sentenced almost four years for committing.
Carlson also pointed out that footage of a police officer named Brian Sicknick actually contradicted what Democrats had been saying about his death during the incident.
It is apparent that Musk is in agreement with Carlson that the new footage is shocking and that those who want to find out the truth about what happened that day need to investigate such matters further.
