House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) is questioning why U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has not appointed a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden.
Jordan sent a letter to AG Garland requesting documents related to the matter to better understand why a special counsel has not been appointed.
Jordan notes in the letter that the investigation of Hunter Biden raises a conflict of interest and that Garland has appointed special counsels in other investigations, so it’s curious that he hasn’t done so in this case. Jordan has requested the documents by March 14 and is looking to conduct oversight of Biden’s Department of Justice.
House Republicans are determined to shed light on the Biden administration’s actions, and we’ll have to wait and see what the investigation turns up.
