President Biden gave the orders for the F-22 fighter jet to take it down, according to a statement from the North American Aerospace Defense Command. The White House confirmed that Biden authorized it but didn’t say any more.
When Jean-Pierre was asked about it on TV, she struggled to give a clear answer and ended up making a mistake by calling Canada “Canadia.” People on social media made fun of her for her poor communication skills and called her the worst press secretary ever.
It turns out that the objects that were shot down in Canada and Alaska were just balloons carrying a payload. Officials confirmed this information to Fox News. The object in Canada was a small metallic balloon with a tethered payload. The one in Alaska was also believed to be a balloon.
