15 Questions Biden Must Answer About His Decision to Withdraw from the Race

Where is Joe Biden? It’s the question on Americans’ minds after a letter posted on Biden’s X account announced Sunday that the president will not seek reelection this fall.

The communique mentioned that Biden will “speak to the Nation later this week in more detail” about his decision, but Americans have not heard directly from him about his sudden exit from the 2024 race. A “week ahead guidance” released by the White House on Monday indicated Biden had no public events scheduled for that day and noted that “[a]dditional details” about his schedule for the rest of the week would be “forthcoming.” This situation has essentially left Americans playing a high-stakes version of “Where’s Waldo?”

Sunday’s announcement came amid a surge of calls from Democrats, media, and leftist celebrities for Biden to step down as the nominee. Biden initially resisted calls to resign, pledging to remain in the race to take on Donald Trump this November. Given the seriousness of the situation, the American people deserve to hear directly from Biden about what prompted the suspension of his campaign. Here are 15 questions he must answer:

  1. How did you make the decision to bow out of the 2024 race?
  2. What made you decide to endorse Kamala Harris as your successor?
  3. Why did you resign your candidacy after recently pledging to be the Democrats’ 2024 nominee?
  4. Why was the suspension of your candidacy announced via letter rather than on camera?
  5. Why did it take so long for you to personally address the American public about the suspension of your campaign?
  6. How can you and your party justify disenfranchising the 14 million electors who voted for you in the 2024 Democratic presidential primary?
  7. If the suspension of your candidacy is due to health-related reasons, how can you justify finishing the rest of your term as president?
  8. If the suspension of your candidacy is due to health problems, when did you, your campaign, and White House officials — including Vice President Kamala Harris — learn of these issues, and why did you and your team hide them from the American public?
  9. If the suspension of your candidacy is due to health problems, who is running the country while you grapple with your medical issues?
  10. If the suspension of your candidacy is not due to health reasons, how is the suspension of your campaign not a coup?
  11. Did Kamala Harris pressure, blackmail, or bribe you to suspend your campaign?
  12. Did former President Obama pressure, blackmail, or bribe you to suspend your campaign?
  13. Did anyone else pressure, blackmail, or bribe you to suspend your campaign?
  14. Did your wife Jill have a role in the decision to suspend your campaign?
  15. Will you pardon your son Hunter before leaving office?
